Still getting intermittent red battery visit workshop convenience disabled.

Tried 2 alternators, 1 new and 1 used. Changed the bcm and the k57/2 relay.

All terminals sre tight, both batteries are fairly recent. Front is exide and rear is varta agm, both batteries are 12.6v sat with no load.

Rear battery is showing 14v while running but the aux is only showing 12.69.

I've read that there is a fuse that can be a problem, can anyone verify that and the location?

Current codes are 2247-2, 9055

Presume that your car is as in your avatar, thus an older car with older technology. I always check the simple things first and in this case I would check all earth straps.

The wire that goes from alternators B+ terminal to starter has a fuse in it that is exposed to the elements, these can corroded and break.
I do not know the exact location as I am not familiar with your model.

Also an AGM battery requires different charging procedures as they have less internal resistance.

If your AGM battery was not fully charged on a proper charger it will never come up to full charge. Alternators are not chargers, hence your rear battery may need to be properly charged..

I believe that there may be a software update that will update the sensor so that it is not so sensitive.

This blog is from Smalls Amos via interlinked.......

"Got this annoying battery alarm coming middle of the running… Then i changed already voltage regulator, battery relay and both batteries. But it didn’t work at all.

And I read this in one forum:

“The battery control module sence’s the power drop of the battery, you have consumers stage 1 and 2, depends on the state of charge of the battery, there is a up-date for the BCM which lowers the threshold of these warnings!!!”

Then I look at both POWER screws on BSG unit, and then read faults from BSG when using MB SD Connect C4 star diagnostic DAS in offline mode.

The quick test shows no fault. But under development tools faults are

9050: Verbraucherabschaltung Stufe 2 aktiv (consumer shutdown level 2 active) and 9051: Verbraucherabschaltung Stufe 1 aktiv (consumer shutdown level 2 active). Instrument display shows sometimes convent functions not available and sometimes shows red brake and battery error and says go to workshop.

I tried solutions offered in mhhauto forum. SOLVED!!

Steps as follows:

Start the car

Remove one cable from battery

Measure the voltage how much charge the alternator

Just renew main battery and additional battery with original ones
, if alternatore charge ok , because the system will are ok

Note: check now many amperes eat electric extra heater buster if the car is equiped with!

it could be checked under Aircon manu!

read about AMG batteries here

It might be helpful, then again maybe not;)

I've read all of those today. Thanks anyway. Gonna have a good look at the wiring tomorrow and go from there.
