I have replaced the alternator and the battery, however the battery is not being charged and keeps draining. I have researched and discovered that there is a 175 amp fuse that may be blown keeping the alternator from charging the battery. In all my research, I am unable to locate where in the Sam hell this fuse is on my 2002 Merc C320. Can someone please point me in the right direction. I do not have thousands to take it to the dealership. Yes I am a woman and doing the work myself, any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

From what you're describing, a fuse of that size is usually found in the Prefuse Box located usually in the Engine Compartment, look here for further information if you can't find your fuse chart usually found in one of the SAM/Fuse distribution boxes in your car; https://fuse-box.info/mercedes-benz/mercedes-benz-c-class-w203-2000-2007-fuses-and-relay

I would be tempted to take the car to a local respected indie who has a Star MB diagnostic system, otherwise you could be spending a lot of time and more money in a fruitless chase. If you post whereabouts you are, someone may be able to suggest a local indie. Alternatively it sounds like a problem that a local auto electrician could deal with. The fuse box info site, (usually reliable) does not seem to show a 175A fuse. Edit I presume you have checked the voltage at the battery terminals with the engine running to confirm it's a charging problem rather than a severe battery drain, which can be a 'mare to identify.

Please put up a photo of the old alternator.
