I had a amber warning light come on for temp on my E500 cab, it hasn't overheated and there is plenty of fluid in the coolant tank.

I'm not sure though is the main fan is working and I was wondering where the fuse is , the owners manual does really cover much on the E500 and where I thought it was in the engine bay there seems to be the main battery.

Also can anybody recommend a good cheap blutooth OBD reader?

You are best off getting an iCarsoft MB - the extra cost can be made back when you sell it as they are always in demand. Buy from a recognised dealer as there are fakes around or try and find a s/hand one.

It could be the cooling on the charge air cooler. The pump is behind the bumper and is known to fail at times. You could try powering it from a fused external supply to see if it runs.
The main fan should come on if the air conditioning is on.
