Hi! I wonder if anyone can help please. It a a bit of a long story, but I’ve just changed the interior in my E220 Estate because the front 2 seats had split. I understand that to be a bit of a problem with the leather look vinyl. I found a leather interior and spent a happy weekend changing it all over. The new one comes with ambient lighting strips in the door cards, they’re all connected up, but don’t come on. Do I have to tell the car that it has these now and if so, how? Thank you.

If your car didn't have ambient lighting before the interior change you may be lucky and be able to have them coded in using Star diagnostics at a Mercedes indy. It may also be a case of requiring new door control modules to accept ambient lighting.
Was there a loose plug from the ambient lighting that would fit in a door controle module inside the door as you say its "all connected up"?
A mercedes indy can advise.

Where are you located so someone here may be able to point you to a recommended indy?

Thanks so much for your help. Everything connected up ok to the door module with no loose wires left. I’m in Leicestershire near Loughborough.

Out of interest, have you checked for ambient lighting in your Settings/Lights menu? I presume it won't be there and as suggested, the setting probably needs to be switched on by an MB Independant first.

Yes, there’s no ambient light option. I think I’ll go down the route of taking it to an Independent. Thank you.
