Ambient lighting

Just bought a 2021 E 400d premium plus coupe with MBUX. The ambient lighting above the instruments and sat nav isn’t working but active immediately below. I’ve been through the settings and it doesn’t seem possible to isolate this item. All function well on my 2019 coupe and a friend who has just taken delivery of a CLS his works as well. I’ve taken a peek on You Tube and similar aged models seem to has this lifting working too. Anyone have any ideas?

Sounds like you've some faulty LED's, I'd be taking it back to Mercedes.
They might say it's correct... I'd check with another car before believing them...

It should be an identical interior...it wouldnt be cost effective for Mercedes to make a different dashboard for Coupe, Saloon or Estate.
Ambient lighting is a standard feature across the range.

Here is a page taken from the current brochure for the E Class Coupe which has the only picture I can see (top right) in the entire brochure that shows the ambient lighting lit up, but curiously it is not lit up above the instrument screens.

No its not standard. Its standard on certain models within the range. Otherwise its a cost option.

On certain models yes. The picture you posted shows blind spot assist, widescreen display and Comand as standard too. They are not standard across the range.

Yes thanks. Mines a 2021 facelift. My prev coupe was like this.

I went into the pages where it shows a dot against fetaures that are standard on specific models, and for the Coupe and Saloon/Estate all models have standard ambient lighting.
I can take a screen shot and post it up if you want me to?

Lets not get bogged down on this...according to the brochures ambient lighting is standard on the E Class, but if you have been following my posts there seems to be some doubt on whether the latest models have the LED strip above the instrument screens.

Mine isn’t hence this thread. Reckon the e dumped it. Along with luggage net in passenger footwell, clock and metal internal locking pins on top of the door. Cost cutting exercise I should think.
