Having a nosey around Southport Mercedes, this morning, this was there.
An AMG 43 SL in what looked like a, Magno Brown. Twas very nice.

Why would it make any difference? The car has 540bhp! its not a straightline speed course and at no point did I run out of power.

Possibly better cornering, just interested if you tried both and if it effected times...?
