Hi all - I have this weird rattling noise coming from the drivers side after having diven for 30 or so minutes....I have brake shudder from warped rotors which the car is going in for next week.

Any ideas as to what may be causing this light rattle? I'm thinking calipers but it doesnt go away when applying the brakes and seems more noisy when turning....possibly ball joints or strut tower?

Really got me baffled.....cars done 121,000 klms MY13 W204 CDI Estate.

That would be difficult to diagnose as quite often where you think a noise is coming from is not, but good luck.

Thanks for the replies - definately think its something related to the warped rotors as I get a lot of shake when the brakes are applied - after the commute to work the rattle is there but not on start of the journeys.

Getting it checked out next week as I need to tow the caravan next month!

Turns our the front rotors have runout of greater than 0.8mm (which is quite a lot I think) causing the shudder under braking and making the pads rattle at low speed. Getting these replaced today - rears have a small amount of runout but not significant.
