Hi all

Sorry to post yet another box problem!!!

My w124 E320 autobox has started to feel like a clutch slip on acceleration, which seems to go away nearly if you ease your foot off the accelerator. Anyone ever have this sensation before, and if so is there any cure????

Many thanks
SF

Other than a gearbox oil level check or change if it's not been done, then a gearbox recon and new Torque Converter is the last and most expensive step. About 1500 quid from a gearbox specialist.

My box was done a couple of months ago. 1500 spent and drives great - then - head gasket goes. Am deciding what to do next.

Already had the head gasket done 3 years ago in Holland. It was done at a MB dealer and cost me 1500 euros, but they did change the plugs at the same time;)

As i live over here in Germany finding someone to do a recon is not that easy and i'm not sure its worth spending the money on it unfortunately, although i have loved the car, i think it's time for a change:sad::sad: before it turns into a money pit.

You could buy mine and swap the gearbox over but being in Germany rules that out.

Hi you lot

Well my car is sorted, it turns out the feeling of a slipping clutch, was 3 of the HT leads breaking down under load, combined with knackered prop bearings!!!! What a difference, it sounds like a new car, and my wife keeps thinking the engine has cut out its running that quite:D:D:D

Well chuffed;)
