Hi, I've just "won" a set of E211 5 spoke alloys from ebay which I intend to fit to my 1999 E 240 Avantgarde. They ar 7.5J, 42 offset and pcd of 112. Am I right in thinking that these will fit straight on using the existing alloy wheel bolts? Thanks in advance

Nidge,
The wheel is about the right size; W210 offset is 41mm for the 7.5J. I doubt whether the 1mm will make any difference, all other dims quoted are OK. However, the inner clearance on the front suspension is quite tight so finally check when you've mounted a tyre.

Malcolm (TV) posted some info on wheel bolts taken from the parts manual so perhaps he can check the bolt compatibility?

MB bolts are 28mm for alloys, I don't know if the new wheels have 14mm holes, if 12mm no problem. MB charge£1,80+ each where as firms like Topgear take £1.00 inc each, very nice chrome finish too, As you rightly say Clive off set OK.
Always play safe when changing wheels, spin them while car is on the jack.

Ah, I hadn't considered that.... presumably 14mm holes would be a problem?

Update:

The W211 wheels do indeed use 14mm holes, and require a shorter bolt than the standard W210 alloys, however this was quickly remedied by Murray Systems who supplied the correct length 12mm bolts which have an R14 cup to match the wheels

Murrey systems are OK and I believe they only charge £1.00 each.

new bolts to relace the old ones from mercedes are just a joke, gone is the nice chome finish, and in with the cheap and nasty galvanised ones, they are probably sourcing from China. For my 5 year old E240, i have got the chrome ones re polished.

How is it that you have chromed bolts on a W210? Our T210 had rusty poor galv ones. Interesting though, I de-rusted them and sprayed them with cold galvanizing paint and came to an as new finish. The paint finish doesn't seem to attract the dirt as the rest of the wheel is almost black with road crud and the wheel bolt stand out in clean silver colour???????!!
