Only bought this as a bit of a stop-gap after selling the 430 - that was 2 years ago!
This beauty just keeps on giving! A bit of a Gem" me thinks.... :D
Just goes to show you don't have to spend a fortune to get a decent car!

The only thing I worry about come MOT time is Emissions, it's always pot luck..... But I'm glad to say I needn't had worried. :p

'Till next time!

Can I ask what sort of garage did the MOT?

I take mine to the Mercedes indie I use and he only started doing his own MOTs a couple of years ago.

It did recently pass, but with, same as both times he MOT'd the car previously, the most immense list of advisories for pretty well every suspension part, brake pipes, light lenses fading, etc etc.. I just can't believe my car is so much worse than others out there.

It's just a Local Garage down the road from me that has been doing my MOT's for many years. And any repairs/servicing I myself cannot do.
But he has failed a couple of my cars on occasion, one time on Drop Links, another time on a blown Registration Light Bulb, Rust on one occasion. Oh, and a tyre that had a bit of a Bubble on the inside of the Wall.

We did the same with our old 210.
Bought as a temporary load lugger and it did 53k miles and 6 years before the tin worm took hold.
Those m112 engines are a delight.

Thats very true, its the upkeep and maintenance that keeps it a decent car.

Glad it passed and you got another ticket

Passing an MOT is not about the garage - although some are more lenient than others.

Its the car that passes.

If you are concerned, get a second opinion. I use an MOT only place - so no chance of upsell for extra work.

As for advisories, I tend to get things done either DIY or my indy. Brake pipes and suspension are important, Lenses can be polished yourself.

All covered to death over the years.

I think it’s very dependent upon the tester on the day…

The rear tyres are at 4mm on the edge … (as advised by the tester…) the wheel bearing play is the standard Mercedes play and the number plates have passed for the last 4 years (length of time I’ve had them) and the last 3 MOTs were at the same garage that failed it on Friday…

Here is the previous MOT.

The owner, Andy owns the Garage and he does all the tests. - (And he really likes the Doughnuts from the Bakery next door). Just sayin'......

I adjusted the Wheel Bearings just afterwards myself.

I'm not surprised about the Tyre Wear as it is noticeable on the very outside edge. But the rest of the tread is fine. (Sport Contact 3).

Both the fronts have a very slow puncture that goes down to around 23psi quite quickly then stays there, so unintentionally I end up driving with them slightly deflated. Result, worn edges... :( (I know I should get it fixed, or slow down on right-handers....lol).

Nice to see, can’t believe that you’ve had this car for two whole years !!!

I know!
But I did say that I think this one is a "keeper"! It is so smooth and so quiet. No rattles, squeaks or bumps. You cruise at 70mph and all you here is a bit of wind noise.
The only thing that lets it down, of which no fault of its own is that the previous owner as a emergency stop-gap put a sub-standard Battery - an old Bosch S3-008 . So occasionally I have to juice up the Battery in Winter as it gets weak. But I plan to rectify that now it's passed the MOT.
