While crawling around under the 320CE, I noticed that there is a plastic section in front of the rear axle on the offside. This covers various things.

However, on the port side, there is nothing. Should there be a plastic section there, there appears to be some things to secure a plastic section.

I guess fitting a plastic box there would be handy from smuggling drugs or small endangered species.

It's the cover for the fuel pump and filter, No.83 herehttp://www.detali.ru/cat/oem_mb2.asp?TP=1&F=124052&M=104%2E992&GA=722%2E369503&GM=717%2E450&CT=F&cat=15T&SID=47&SGR=015&SGN=01 don't think there is a similar one for the other side but you could always make one to balance things up.
Geo.

It's strange that they put in the studs to mount a cover and then didn't fit one. I guess that it's just there to confuse people, like me.

IKEA do the same thing as they stick in a couple of extra parts sometimes.
