Hi all,

I have an A Class on a '99 plate and have had to change my battery. The radio code has kicked in however, I do not have the code. I phoned the original dealer (was Tony Purson but I thing they have been brought out) they didn't want to help.

A dealer in hertford (which is closer to me) were very helpfull and put my chassis number into their system but the adio code was not listed due to being an early model and Dealer fit only.

The question is, is their a way of getting a code without going to an ICE seecalist or just ripping it out and throwing it away? I travel 120 miles a day in the car and it is doing my brain in not having any music.

The radio is a MB Audio 10 CD.

Thanks

Go to a local audio fitters & ask them to remove the radio, it will take them 1 minute MAX. Take the radio to MB dealer & they can give you the code from the serial number on the radio. They should'nt charge you if the've got a heart. Don't get them to take the radio out though, else they will charge you.

As type 49 says take it out your self, the part number for the removal keys is
W 0000 589 88 63 00 the Keys cost £1.09 then do what type 49 says.
