RVM has got a cracked off, jagged edge (about 1" long) just to right side of dipping lever & when I try to push it (up) back it seems to be under excessive pressure for some reason.

There are no other gismo's attached to this mirror other than the dipper lever.

Is it worth trying to take off (don't know how) and how can it be fixed without prying off the mirror from its backing, which I'm loathed to do in case I cannot get the mirror onto backing, back again.

What would cause this pressure?

Any ideas folks?

Before I'm raced off to the hospital in some cheapo LDV ambulance after lacerating myself for trying to clean the interior windscreen.

Many Thanks, Keith.

Also meant to ask ...

Are they expensive to replace.

Has anyone ever bought another from dealer?

Thanks again, Keith.

Try Mercman or Dronsfields

get googling. Their prices for used units will be pretty much on the money. They might even give you a hint as to how to on and off them.
