Ok so I got my W124 250D all run in and am due to change oil and filter now. Is it ok to go straight to fully synth ? Is semi a more sensible choice ?
This car has 110,000miles on it and has had a rebore with new pistons and rings etc.
I have tried to be careful (ish) running in but have had to thrash it a few times to get out of the way of stuff ! Can't believe how, er, sedate these things are !!
Cheers

Your Mercedes
A diesel
You will be ok to go straight to synthetic now running in is completed. The occasional thrashing whilst running in a diesel is actually good for it. Don't run a diesel in using only light load as the bores will glaze causing high oil consumption. A dose of full load will burn off any glaze that is forming.

Cheers for the info - and for the reassurance I haven't done too much damage !
