anoying little problem

I have a very anoying problem.


I have a c250td estate on a 98 plate.

I appear to have a constant viabration where the interior light is. It is constant but only when the ignition is on or the engine is running.

It sounds like there is a small electic motor running.

if you put your hand on the interior lights you can feel the vibration.

This happens whether the car is in motion or stationary.

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Is this the little fan that draws the cabin air over the temperature sensor?

Dont think so.

I have only noticed it recently. Have had the car for 3 years now.

Will double check tho.

Perhaps the fan is only now starting to fail?

Or there is dust build-up causing an imbalance?

Try holding a very small piece of tissue over the grille

As said,if there is a dust build up the fan will be labouring,use a vacuum cleaner to clear out the vents.

If it has failed, there're not expensive from memory. I had mine replaced at 4 years old when it started to buzz. Quite a common problem.
