Anti freeze

Hi All

I was a site in the States earlier,and seen this guy was using MB anti freeze,and recomended it over the usual stuff,does anyone have any views on this.
Personaly I dont think it matters a-f is a-f as far as I'm concerned,or am I missing something,damm yanks!.

Merc, as long as its good quality Ethelyne Glycol based stuff, with corrosion inhibitor, i think thats all you really need.

Unless you want the nice MB bottle that it came in, for a centre piece in the livingroom cabinet!!

I always like to put something in with a name i recognise, and that is not necessarily "the antifreeze co of Taiwan"

I was reading on a mercedes performance site about the mixture of anti freeze . If you dope the water too much you get overheating problems , but for the summer when its warmer the mixture should be made weaker to allow better engine cooling ? is this another internet myth ?

Not a myth, antifreeze expands at a greater rate than water, hence in the summer when the ambient temperature is higher, ultimately the antifreeze strength should be weaker.

The fact that antifreeze expands more than water, is why you always find the leaks/weakest point in your cooling system, directly after installing antifreeze.
