Hi all,

I love this site and I love how helpful everyone is (especially television).

I would just like to say- as against so many threads I have read on this site, that I LOVE MY MERC. It has no problems or errors and is operating at optimum efficiency.

It is truly a thing of beauty.

Driving an object of such significant substance and seeing that Merc logo pointing me in the right direction everytime I take my drivers seat, brings a smug smile so satisfying it justifies the effort required to get my arse out of bed every morning.

Mine too. I suspect this happens mainly because of the way it is driven?

Whole heartedly agree. I love driving my W140 S600 coupe. It has such presence and the surge of power when you put your foot down is exhilarating. All cars have problems but we should celebrate the fun we get from them as well.

Agreed, my lowly oil burning, load lugger has performed flawlessly over the last 3 years.

If only more would post how well their MB has performed..

Excellent idea.I've fallen into the trap of thinking that I'll never buy another Mercedes simply because no one posts to say they don't have a problem.

Mine is almost coming upto its anniversary. Apart from a misfire on a cold day and a blocked a/c vent (which I fixed myself) the car has been boringly flawless and pleasure. I hope it stays that way, and I will not extend the warranty that expires in about 2 weeks time.

I have driven it for about 15k miles and its been serviced 2x in that time. My only gripes are the seats (head rests stick out too much and the wheel could do with about 1/2inch more telescoping).

Its a fantastic car to drive, despite being the smallest engine diesel 211, and has given me many happy drives in scotland and good GTGs to go to. I love the gunsight and like the OP, makes getting up in the morning and going to work a good part of the day, not a bad one.

I just wish I had more money to go out and enjoy the car more.

somone one told me that most men think more about their cars than their wives, i was also told that people who swoon about their cars are "anoracks", one thing is for sure, and i include myself in this, if we are vasculating about our cars we are fortunate and long may it continue not to have met the more demanding things which can come our way.eg: lost job, lost investments, or you or loved ones losing their health, not tring to be mournfull, just reminding you how lucky we are. paul mcartney's wife had a new merc. every year, she loved them. herbiemercman.

My 1994 R129 has given me more pleasure and less problems than any other car I have owned or driven in a long motoring career.

It is probably the best built car I will ever own and I dread the day when I can longer climb in or out of it. Maybe I can modify a hard-top lift to get me in and out!

Just pretend you are wearing a mini skirt when getting out. Keep the feet and knees together and rotate through 90 degrees, then lean forward and stand up ..............

I love my car to bits. The violent power surge is so wonderful. It looks fantastic when I catch sight of a reflection in a shop window, so neat and small and shiny and yellow, wheels all glittery (that's so sad, no?). And for something as powerful (354bhp), the occaisional glitch is forgiveable. All I've had go wrong is the intercooler water circulation pump, easily diagnosed, and easily fixed. (Oh, and the bottom part of the heated seats have gone, but who cares about that?). I keep it at work all week, otherwise I would be driving it every evening.

I've had six Mercs in the last 15 years 3 that I still own , all have purred like a satisfied woman even the high mileage ones , all you need to do is give them a "regular servicing" oops I mean regular service and treat them with a bit of TLC and respect now and again .

I have been a Merc owner now for 12 days, and nothing has even gone wrong in the slightest. And in those 12 days, I have clocked up 1300km. :)
Been driving a lot! Early morning drives, coffee at 3am... and just driving on the back roads. Heaven.
