Anti roll bar control unit

Hello and welcome to the forum, are you referring to the ECE that pops the roll bar up, as there are mods and changes over the year, could you say what the car is, ie 129060,63, 64

The problem we have is that the roll bar warning light on the dash is on. The rocker switch that operates the roll bar works but the warning lights are flashing and only go out when the roll bar is up.
Star diagnostics shows that the control box under the rear seat is faulty.
The vin no. is WDB1290632F
Any help is appreciated.

May be someone could help this newbie!!
1997 SL 320 W129
The hardtop release button is lit all the time as is the roll bar switch.
The battery was a little sluggish when starting at the week end as I have not run it for 4 weeks.
This has happened before but it ended up at MB with a big bill.Can any one diagnose the problem and tell me how to release the Top and also to extinguish the lights?

It sounds as though we have similar problems. The recent snow left the car standing for four days resulting in a flat battery.
Jump starting helped but resulted in the anti roll bar rocker switch flashing constantly, the warning amber light on the dashboard on permanently.

Star diagnostics found faulty control box under the rear seat controlling the roll bar and the roof. To replace brand new from MB = £1200 But we tracked down second hand one from Dronsfield MB in Oldham for £400

All working okay now.

just reading through some other threads....I,m assuming i need a new control unit because the light is flashing on the button and lit on the dash, however, everything else functions ok, roll bar up n down on the switch and the soft top is ok....could it maybe just need a re-set?

Yes that is possible and it could be any other sensor,,to re set the roll bar raise it and hold the switch up for 10 sec in the key 2 mode

no...the roof operates fine, as does the roll bar from the switch, its just the warning light on the dash and the one on the rb switch..

Dealer read the codes and said the rb control module needs replacing....i'm hoping this is the worst case sinario and there may be a simple reset fix
