sorry the car is a W203 (out of warrenty)

I have had the antiroll bar and drop links replaced already.

Anti roll bar, torsion bar and stabilizer bar are different names for the same item, the bar stops the car rolling excessively, achieves this by exherting a torque to the suspension as it moves and achieves a degree of stability.

I would be suprised if you have had the anti roll bar replaced, more likely that you have the bushes on the drop links replaced that is the rubberised links at each end of the drop link replaced, these allow a degree of movement whilst still maintaining the connection. They are in

The dealer seems to be suggesting that the anti roll bar bushes need replacing as well, these items secure the bar to the car. If they are worn then instead of the bar twisting when under load it will be moving, possibly making a noise and also not doing its job fully. I dont know if its the same on your model but I recently bought a roll bar repair kit and it included all the bushes, both bar and drop link.

Hope that helps.

Mark.

The anti roll bar is held onto the bottom wishbone of the suspension by a connecting rod which has a rubber bushing at each end. Maybe this is what the guy is talking about.

(in other words the anti roll bar is held onto the body by the normal bushes but then when you get out the wheel, there is a step down at the end of the anti roll bar and this connecting rod goes between the end of hte ARB and the wishbone.

Funny, its kind of what I was blaming for sqeaky noises coming from my front left side when cornering to the left.
