Any ABC Guru out there …Ref Accumulator Reservoirs? CL 500 216

Q1. are there only 2 Ball like accumulator reservoirs ( front and rear axle ) - all I could see on the parts diagram was one on its own, near the rear end and a front one bolted onto the front valve block . Asking because older SLs had a small 3rd one called a Return Accumulator circa in the middle of the car.

I also have a pulsation damper bolted onto the pump, which I changed last year.

Q2. Could I have a problem? With the motor running the oil is at the top of the indent for “Motor An” mark. But if you turn off the engine it goes up to the top of the “Motor Aus“ indent marker (as it should). However if left for a few minutes, it rises to about 19mm higher than the top of “ motor aus” indent mark. I vaguely remember they used to be spot on in both the motor on or off mode.

Note.
- The car sits level, and never sinks or dips on one side.
- Goes up and down manually perfectly
- I never get any ABC warning messages
- No nasty noises.
- No leaks
- Just had a Star diagnosis and the ABC got a tick, no faults. But I had not asked them to check the ABC, as we were just looking ref front end noise from worn out suspension ball joints & a failed wheel speed sensor.

Only asking because I vaguely remember reading if an accumulator rips, it can suck in more oil and expels it in the motor off position. Ergo maybe at a service they checked it running, and topped it up a little?

Q3. I read somewhere that Star can do a “SDS test” ( something like it pumps up both accumulators and then checks to see how long they stay up or something like that). my real question is can Star pinpoint which Ball Accumulator is faulty?
