Wonder if many of us have bikes as well???

Of course being a totally fair weather rider (pansy) mine are tucked up for the winter.

I have a '03 Kawasaki z1000 and a '76 Kawasaki z1000 dragbike which i play around with in the summer (hence the van)

I like Kwacks you see:)

Hi Maddog,

I'm a biker as well, but I prefer the collective of petrolhead as my stable is reasionably varied. I have an Aprilia RST1000, which I would like to ride even in this weather if only I could get the paintwork finished. It was scratched (fell over on a slope) and you would not believe the difficulty in getting it paint matched.

I see your drag bike has training wheels fitted:D  How long do you need those? Seriously, whats your ET and Terminal?

Bikes.

I love em.

Had a Kawasaki KR1S, and most recently a YZ250 Two Stroke and a YZF450 Four Stroke, and A CBR600.

Since the Government latest nannying and removal of rights, green laning now being available to exclusively Ramblers. and Illegal scramble bikes, who of course now wont break the law....
Sold the Dirt bikes, nowhere left to ride and the CBR600 was sold last year, just looked at a 03 ZX636, that or a GSXR1000.

Tim will tell.

The Merc is just to wallow around in although it does have close to 190hp so its fun. But to go fast, bikes will always be better.

The dragbike was only finished earlier this year and is still being shaken down as it were.

It produces 180hp normally aspirated and was last dynoed out to 246hp with the nitrous but we increased the gas at the final meeting so around 280hp now.

We have had issues with the bike going off line when its on the bars so the runs have been on-off the throttle a little best 1/4 mile is 9.45@145 but that was still a shabby run i have recorded a 1/8th mile of 6.0@121 which is more demonstrative of the bikes capabilites.

A few mods over the winter should sort the handling out and the bike has more than enough hp to run around the 8.50@165 mark

Maddog,

Great to hear it but I'd fit a parachute (on your back) for the slow down at the end.

Anybody,

If this bike thing takes off among Mercmen, sorry Mercpersons, then would MB build bkes like B*W? What would they be like? My guess would be that they would be big, comfortable and diesel powered. Any takers??

Yes, I've got three too!! Suzuki SV1000S, Kawasaki Z250A1 and Chinese Scooter Jinlun 50 for going to work sometimes!!

The scoot would give any of your dragbikes a run for their money on the 0-0.0001 MPH dash, about 50 mins!! Great fun though and stress free on the commute.

Yes, they'd be big, comfortable and diesel. They'd also all be very ugly. They would only be ridden by dentists, people with beards and german naturists.

I've got a couple of bikes and haven't killed myself once.

I've got a VFR800 for the rare occasions when my wife & I get to go for a run and a Ducati 996 for track days. Sadly neither have seen much daylight for the last couple of years but I've resisted the temptatioin to sell them and will make an effort to book some track days next summer.

Only problem with track days on the 996 is having to ride to and from them, and especially from them. I'm not quite as supple as I used to be boy does the ride home drag. I looked at getting a trailer, but you can't fit a tow bar to a C43. Oh well.

I have a Fazer 600, 2000 model. Used to use it as my sole transport between March and November, but now that my office is only 6 miles from home it's quicker to jump in the car than spend all that time getting leathers on/off, putting on chains and locks etc. I suppose I should just get up earlier...

I also saw a biker get fatally knocked off his bike at a junction 18 months ago (no fault of his) which has somewhat dampened my road biking enthusiasm.

On a happier note, I also have an old DT125 for mucking about in fields - brilliant machine :D

Your going to die eventually, just like my old merc.

I'm not surprised you go for a run, it must be more exiting than using the VFR:lol:
