Any idea what causes this?

Can anyone say how this happened on all four wheels?! Can I get new centre spheres or does the whole wheel trim need to be replaced? And can those rusty bolts stay like that or should I replace? Thanks.

Center caps can be got on eBay for about £10, lots to choose from style wise too, the bolds just need taking out and the heads cleaning up and painting again, they are known to be a week point for surface rust, doesn’t harm anything but does look a bit poor.

Plenty of New centre caps available, either main dealer if you want to pay top dollar, or eBay.
As for your wheel bolts you can get covers for them in a variety of colours.

Just normal corrosion from road salt and possible wheel cleaning acids (or alkaline).

As per above pop one out and measure it and you can get the wheel centres cheap on eBay.

As for the wheel bolts you can clean them up and just paint the heads. If you have the locking bolts fitted take them out and replace them with the normal bolts you should have in the little plastic case in the boot (where the locking bolt adapter should be). Taking them off is the best way to ensure you can get the wheels off when you need to.

merc wheel bolts a crxp. you can buy new every two yrs because of rust . as for wheel centres ,same applies but flebay has the
solution ,beggers belief that benz logo looks that rubbish so quickly these days . my w208 2001 are in better nic than a 2 yr old...

dont even think plating is a solution as then going to be a B to get the socket on /off.

My last set were from Ebay and lasted just about 12 months and weren't that bad when I replaced them. I usually try and avoid using alloy wheel cleaner on them and just use water.

The new set have MB part numbers on the but I didn't pay MB price for them. They were £22 from a website recommended by JL, I have high hopes for them but I am not holding my breath

Just buy the cheapest and keep away from all alloy wheel cleaner and you will be fine , just use spoap and water
