Any Questions for Mike Brewer regarding classic insurance?

On the 14th November at 6:30pm, Mike Brewer will be taking over the Lancaster Insurance Twitter account for around 20 minutes, answering all manner of classic enthusiast question’s.

Lancaster are asking for club members to ask questions and for the MBO to select one to be answered by Mike Brewer. It will give the MBO club/ forum some extra exposure, as it will be seen by Mike's 40,000 Twitter followers.

Which do you think is the more serious problem. The E class 211 mercedes with the SBC brake pump failure, or the premature rust problems that all mercedes models have had over this past ten years or so, and do you think MB should be holding their hands up and sorting these problems for the poor punters who have bought these cars.

Engine conversions, If I swap a 5 litre V8 into my SL280 (2.8 v6) do I pay the same insurance premium as a SL500 owner or more/less as it is seen as a modification? By the way can Ed do the conversion?

Insurance question,

Why do insurance company's charge £50 to cancel a policy.

apart from the obvious answer, that they are thieves.

I was told by a well know over 50 firm, "that all the other company's do it", So the SAGA continues, if one insurance company does it, it doesn't follow that it makes it right!

what's so hard about pressing a delete/cancel button and refund the unused part of the premium without stealing 50 quid for the privilege.

A post script to this is,

When I pay on line or over the phone with a debit card, by the time I close the insurance window/hang up the phone and open my on line bank account window the money's already gone in about 10 seconds!

Do you really think that Mike Brewer will have the answer to peoples insurance problems..He will come up with a lawyer inspired answer that will have lots of words that say nothing.
