any vacuum pump inside the trunk?

hi all!!
i've a question about the weird sound from the righ hand side of the trunk of my C280 (W202).

i found that sometimes there is a kinda "motor" sound happen inside the trunk and at the same time i found that the interior light of my car will get "dimmer" then back to normal. this on and off sound will last for minutes and so does the "dimmer and brighter" effect.

can anyone tell me what's going on?
is it because of vacuum leak then the pump starts? (assumed that this is really a vacuum pump's sound)

the noise that you hear is the pse pump which controls the central locking and alarm the interior light is dimming due to the current drain on the batt but it sounds like you hae a fault as it should only run for a few seconds when locking and unlocking. the pump itself was quite unreliable in the early 202 models and was modified several times, although it sound like you could have a vac leak .
