I have a new AMG C43 Convertible Mercedes, I noticed that many of the panels (and trim) are not aligned, sometimes by +/- 5mm! Does anybody know the Mercedes tolerance gap, I have heard its +/- 1MM, is that correct?

Anybody else heard of a car that is +/- 5mm out?

5mm is a serious bit of mis-alignment and blatantly obvious , did you inspect the vehicle prior to purchase or did you buy it online as this method seems to be getting more popular now-a-days.

What panels are you talking about specifically.

Good afternoon and welcome

Please pop us some images, also some history please, has the vehicle had any previous damage or has an aftermarket kit on it?

Many thanks

+/- 5mm is way out of tolerance for panel gaps, especially on newer cars.

As has been said above, very noticeable by eye, and can't for a moment think acceptable to MB, factory or dealer! I'd point it out to supplying dealer, and be having a word, ASAP.

Good morning,

Thanks for sending that info over but need more clarity on the situation. Have after markets parts been fitted? Has it been involved in an incident and repaired? Also images of the actual panel gap would be good to see.

Many thanks

I have a 3 month old ex demo AMG C43 Convertible Mercedes, I recently noticed that many of the panels (and trim) are not aligned, sometimes by +/- 5mm!

Does anybody know the Mercedes tolerance gap, I have heard its +/- 1MM, is that correct?

Anybody else heard of a car that is +/- 5mm out?

The car, according to an independent car expert, hasn’t been involved in accident etc. It was only on closer inspection after I collected the car from the Mercedes dealer, that I noticed that some of the panels and trim were not of the standard I would have expected and up on a detailed inspection, found that some of the gaps and panels were not aligned, sometimes out by +/- 5mm! Comments/thoughts/suggestions please.

If on your phone screenshot them and then upload the screenshots
If on your laptop then email them to yourself and choose 1024/768 then save the pictures back to your laptop and upload them
