    Hi!

For those of you who do their own maintenance,I wondered if any of you had needed to source Sportline Suspension. This is aimed at the W124 cars.

I have good part numbers,Sachs and Boge and Boge for the Springs.

I have no problem phoning around dealers, factors for Sachs stuff.I wondered if there were any places you could suggest which stocked New Old Stock, that aren't listed on Google.

As a matter of safety,I will be going to Mercedes for the front springs. This high front end silliness (caused by the PO fitting wrong std springs:mad:!) is dodgy at times, and winters nearly here!

Hope someone might know of some suppliers who perhaps buy up surplus Sachs,Boge,Koni,H&R etc
    Worth an ask ;)

    TIA
    Steve

Why only the fronts? I should get all four at MB if you're looking for Sportline. Also, you'll need to match the specification of your car with that of an equivalent Sportline to get the correct spring ratings.

He'd only need fronts if they're incorrect, no need to replace correct rear springs

    .

Oh dear, perhaps I haven't composed my thread properly.

I need to replace all four springs and shocks, but have money difficulties.
I'm keeping this car no matter what,as it's a corker I got as an unsold car from ebay for only £450 with 9m MOT.It now has 12m MOT/tax and is the best car I've ever owned.

I know I can just shop around and buy (obviously) the correct springs/shocks.I'm only looking for OEM Sportline by Sachs and Boge.If per chance someone on here has an unused set or H&R springs and Koni Shocks I'll take them.I'd take Koni/H&R combo 2nd hand if serviceable.

Iam in need of new suspension because the previous owner replaced all 4 springs, without doing his homework. He fitted standard springs from a motor factor, not even ones for the Sportline models!:rolleyes: In addition to this, all 4 shockers are dead.

Hope this clarifies a tad! Cheers guys!;)

    I meant to say,Ray...

You don't need to get an equivalent Sporline vehicle to get correct ratings.

If you call Mercedes for example, and give them your chassis number, their system pulls up the original customer order for the car !!:D:D:D
You can then see what was specified for the car when new.You can also tell,;),if your car is a genuine Sportline or not.

Aaaanyway,Mercedes will obv then sell you the correct springs.

I have all correct part numbers here for Sportline Suspension if this is of any use to fellow Sportliners:cool:

This is for the later W124 cars, from 1993-1997

    Front Shocks Sachs 115 070/Boge 36-612-C
    Rear Shocks Sachs 106 879/36-A06-O
    Front Springs Boge 25-146-0
    Rear Springs Boge 25-353-0

You may also find this useful.
ZF,the company who also owns Sachs,Boge and Lemforder has its parts catalogue online.

This is a great way to get good/correct part numbers

    http://webcat.zf.com/index.asp?SPR=4

For those who don't know, these companies supply to Mercedes. So,when are cars are new, these are what are fitted,or Bilstein on some occassions.

the ZF site only shows 2 front springs for all the 124 models.

Mercedes ECP would show many more different springs.
