Hi everyone,
I'm doing a bit of research on the M110/M103/M104 engines for Practical Performance Car magazine (www.ppcmag.co.uk). We're doing a feature on straight six engines including the above.
Does anyone know what each of these engines weigh and their basic dimensions?
Also, the M104, i presume, is a development of the M103, but where are the the M110 and M103's origins?
What manual gearboxes mate to these engines? Are they made by Mercedes, ZF or Getrag? And what are they called?
What's the construction materials of each engine - ie. are the blocks and heads alloy or cast iron?
What are the 'usual' problems associated with these engines?
Does anyone have any high-res images of these engines out of a car?

Thanks in advance, i'd be very grateful for any help. My Email address is ed@ppcmag.co.uk.

All the best,
Ed Hall

Not use if a Kenneth Ball workshop manual for the 220b, Sb, SEb SEbC 6 cylinder engine is any use. . . . lots of good info in it. Does not give the engine designations but a lot of very good info.
