anyone know if you can manually reset assyst on a 2000 facelift e class?

I alreadfy have a 98 e320 read the manual andit tells you how to reset the assyst via the console.

I'm looking to get an estate for the other half - found a nice 2000 e280- and i was wondering if you can do the same manual rest of assyst or do you have to take it to a dealer?

thanks

Hi, try this:
My ASSYST service interval indicator has been counting down the days to a B service (which the car has just had from a non MB garage) so I decided that I would reset it myself.

According to the owners manual this is possible using a combination of activities with the ignition switch, steering wheel controls and reset button.

Six attempts later I am about to give up having followed the ptocedure to the letter, turn the starter switch to position 1, use the steering wheel multi-function switch to call up the service indicator and press the reset button for 2 seconds to clear the service warning.

However I didn't give up and decided to move the starter switch to position 2 and quess what the procedure worked.

So for all you 210 facelift owners I thought I'd post this info. The owner's manual appears to be wrong, where it states starter switch pos 1, delete that and write in pos 2.

Anything else, just ask.

I hope that I can do this on the 230, that would be very useful to me.
