i found this car at a very old army camp that looks like it had been left there poss after the war i can tell its of military origins as the paint work is still slightly visable there is also oil in the sump i doubt its ever been started since it was left would this be a good project for restoration

Lanchester 10 or an old Talbot is my guess looking at the steering wheel and rear end, and of the 1949 vintage

I think this is a Sunbeam Talbot 90.

http://www.classic-vintage-car-rental.com/sunbeam_scottish_motoring.html

The clues are: the gear lever on the car is a column change to the left, shown in one of the second set of pics above. A Lanchester or a Daimler were suggested, but both would have a pre-selector gear box with a column change and a quadrant plate behind it - to the right of the steering column as shown in one of the pictures of the Daimler.

The other general clues were the shape of the rear end in the original photos and the window aperture behind the C Pillar (although there was no pillar and the rear door was hinged into the roof). The steering wheel is a weaker clue and was probably similar to several cars of that era.

Whatcha think?

Yes he did win,,I put sunbeam in my first post as the rear reminded me of that,,it was the part of the wings built into the doors that clinched it

in the interest of fair play you can have joint custody of the fish

I don't know what to say - I have never won anything before.

I would like to thank my mother, my father, my school maths teacher, etc.

I would promise to offer the goldfish a good home, but I suspect that Malcolm could provide it with a better maintenance programme and more innovative running repairs!

We should do this more often. ;):)
