Anyone know what this is??

Ok, Im looking for whats causing Condensation in my boot and causing puddles under the back seats of my Merc 190E and I found this -

This is in the boot in the Left Rear Wheel Well area infront of the Electric Arial

It looks like an aluminium pipe is running from this and into the left rear wheel well and is slowly dripping water out of it.

Does anyone know what it is and what its for???

Plus whats the Aluminium pipe for? Could that pipe be todo with the Sunroof if its nothing todo with that motor looking thing in the picture?

Calculated guess - Looks to me it could well be the sunroof motor assembly. The aluminium tube will carry the 'worm-drive' cable. The white hex nut-like gismo is probably for manual operation of the roof if something electrical fails. You may well have sourced your leak, likely caused by blocked sunroof drains.
Someone will either come in and confirm this or shoot me down in flames!

so could that aluminium tube also act as like a drain?

I have added a rubber pipe to it and fed it out of the rubber grommit so it drips out side instead of in the rear wheel well.

Hopefully this has fixed the problem

tom is spot on, but no water can come from teli-flex cable, look under parcel shelf in boot for water stains rear screens leak often

no water stains on parcel shelf, rear window condensates up on inside which drips onto the parcel shelf fabric.
