Hi
I have had some electrical faults with my C180 Coupe (2001) and having had it looked over it looks like it si nothing to do with connections, bulbs, earthing etc. but a faulty Signal Acquisition Module. Can this be repaired or do I have to buy a new one? I've been told it costs about £300 programmed but I can't find anywhere that supplies one- can anyone help?

Cheers

Hi there

Sorry to be the bringer of bad tidings, but you are going to have to go to an MB dealer for this. The SAM needs to be programmed to work with your car and only MB seem have the required software to do this! (I couldn't find anyone else). I recently had one replaced on my w211 e class and it cost around £400 in total! A faulty SAM I'm told can start causing problems elsewhere in the car (due to powerspikes) and my car's audio system kept playing up. Touch wood, since the SAM was replaced, no electrical clitches (at least so far!).

Good luck.
