anyone like to do a wedding??

Hi all,

I am in the throws of organising my wedding for the 13 sept 08 and am in desparate need of a mercedes for use as a wedding car in the bournemouth area. I was going to use the 250ce but i dont think it will be finished in time and the other half is getting twichy.

sure there are plenty of s class 85ish onwards to pick from on the usuall websites but i thought it would be nice to try and locate someone personally with a car that would suit. obviously i will get inundated with eager owners but what im really hunting for is or would be similar to a 250S-300SEL 1965 ish or if i was really hopefull a 1951 300 or 1963 600 : )

As things go during the planning of weddings I have adopted the mindset of 'yes thats nice dear' and 'whatever makes you happy my love' . But when it comes to the car im affraid im struggling to make any consessions. I want one of the best cars in the world to arrive in! Is that too much to ask? Maybe but at least im trying, if i didn't i'll regret it.

I know for fact there are loads of gems floating around bournemouth and poole tucked into there cosey garages not be used. especially around the poole and sandbanks area there are 3 6o's s classes and a 1956 coupe in red with 30K on the clock. I guess they are all far too busey doing lunch to help. Oh well im going to book the 53 Buick instead. TA

Just be aware that technically if you find someone and pay the owner, it's classed as "hire or reward " and so may not be insured as a result.

This is true. One of the other strange facts is that for my Chauffeur car business I need to be licensed by the council which involves lots of money, and lots of checks. My wedding car business needs no checks whatsoever meaning any Tom Dick or Harry can set up and start trading. Even the council don't know why there is a difference.

There is bound to be a classic car wedding company somewhere but you may have to pay through the nose for it due to your location. I'm doing a wedding in chichester meaning 120 mile round trip for me. The client is paying the fuel though
