Anyone worked on a B Class?

I'm hoping someone out there has experience with extracting an air compressor pump from a 2005 B180.

I know I need to purge the refrigerant but is it even possible to get the compressor out without dropping the engine out?

There's so little clearance. Serpentine belt has gone already because the compressor pulley not turning freely has snapped it.
