Just purchased my first Mercedes. :D
SL320 Black, 2000, 44000 miles,

I am now learning to drive the MB/Becker APS 30.
Owner says they'll look for the disc ...

I am fairly resourceful, and would appreciate any guidance or pointers to find another disc. I have read a number of threads, particularly David Pemberton's very helpful guides. Presumably where people have updated to newer versions, older copies might still function. Would you be open to offers?

Many thanks

......I am really looking forward to getting my car just right.....
New electiric aerial, some wind noise with panorama on nearside front corner to quieten, netting clips snapped and missing, restoring and balancing wheels, knocking out dings, polishing, luxuriating, cruising, polishing.

Hello

Welcome to the forum.

Sorry no spare disc to offer you, I keep my one old CD as a backup. I tried to make a backup copy of my new disc using Nero to keep as a reserve, but it didn't work.

Sources of discs:

1. You dealership for nearly £200... see previous posts for part number.

2. eBay, but make sure it's original as my comments above about copying make me doubtful about non-original discs (irrespective of one's view on copyright morality). There seem to be more discs on German eBay, but you'll have to check that it covers UK (I think that Version 9.0 is all Europe so should be OK) and that the seller will ship to UK.

3. Good idea to ask if someone's got an old disc. It will let you try the system and see if you like it. You'll get fairly fed-up with it not being up-to-date (even the new one isn't as current as a Tom-Tom or similar). If you like the system then you'll probably want to buy the latest disc. The more of us who buy new discs the more likely that MB/Becker will keep producing updates.

Best wishes

David
