Hi there,
I have an APS 30 in my CLK W208. I notice that on Classic FM for instance, the TMS flag is indicated on the radio. How do I use this on navigation? I remember that once the naviagtion showed me a "dynamic route" button option but I have never seen it again! Any help with getting dynamic routing would be gratefully received!

you need to start the programming of a route, and somewhere you will get a settings menu come up, this gives you the option of fast, short and dynamic. select dynamic and thats it, but you will need to activate the route guidence for TMC to work.

best thing to do is have a look at it for a few mins when you have nothing better to do.

Thanks, but I do not see a "dynamic" option where it says fast and short. The DYN option was displayed once above one of the push buttons at the bottom.

Can you tell me more about where this settings menu is and how to activate the route guidance?

you should be able to activate your route guidence by pressing your navigation button. then program a route, select start navigation and it should tell you were to go. some of the settings only come on when the navigation is set, some are disabled when its in route mode.

if you have fast and short displayed, then you should have dynamic displayed at the same time. if you havent, your system is not capable of TMC route guidence without software upgrades.

will rummage thru one of the manuals sometime 2moro.

Dyn

Hi, I have managed to get my DYN option to reappear. I found details on the forums to enter the APS setup menu. Go the the destination Input Menu (where it sats TOWN). Press and hold button 2 and then press button 7. Once in the setup menu, I toggled the DEMO MODE to off. I also ran the autorecalibration while I was playing around with it. I don't know which of these helped, but I now have a DYN option on my Nav menu and it gives me the choice of TMC (free) or some other paid-for option.

Haven't tried it out yet.

Disappearing DYN

Well, I don't understand this!! I've been out and about. The DYN option has disappeared. I've been back to the set-up menu a few times and done the above (and more) and I can't get the DYN option back. Any hints or tips gratefully received!!

Cheers

Ah, all is clear. The DYN option only appears after you disconnect the power supply from the unit and then enter your radio code. I once had the option to download the TMC messages for either the route or the total available. Tried the whole lot and the unit took forever then hung. When I restarted it, the DYN option was not there. I can only assume that since it knows it's in the UK, that option is programmed to become unavailable.

Roll on an upgrade disc!

Cheers
