APS30 GPS console change question

Hello all,

I was wondering what would be involved in changing my APS30 GPS console (single DIN) with the big colour double DIN system that is in the S class...I have a 1999 AvantGarde E class Estate...any info or experience with this would be appreciated.
I saw some cabbies in Athens that have done it to their W210's...

I was also curious as to if I would be limited to a CD based unit versus a DVD based unit.

Not sure about the 99 model, but I don't thinks so. I have a brochure from a 98 model, and it was not listed, and by the look of the dash, I do not think so.

Pretty sure that the New console fitted to the Facelift cars(circ '00), were the only ones that had this option.

I'm in the same boat with my SL, and if you need a new home for the APS30, give me a shout.
