How can I switch the woman's voice to mute.

She sounds exactly like my wife nagging and have had it with her. Need peace and quite when I am driving with Navigation on.

Please help.

Thanks in advance.

i think there is a button on the system itself that allows you to mute, have same system but never used, look in the handbook fo the stereo

Thanks Rajiner

The handbook is no help..no mention of it.

There is a mute button, but it only mutes the Radio and CD progs. Does not mute the traffic reports nor the navigation.

Hi,
While she speaks to you, turn the volume button down. Thats the rotary knob on the left. If you missed it while she speaks, press it and she will repeat the instruction. When she opens her mouth, turn the volume down. That will shut her up.

On my Garmin sat nav I have choices of Male / Female / US & Engish as well as lots of interesting foreign languages. Perhaps the MB one is configurable for diffeent voices.
As per the Aircraft story above I doubt that MB satnavs have ladies voices in the Middle East. (assuming that they would want English anyway)

I always liked the thread were the guy's Dutch wife argued with the Sat nav over the given route, when he changed the settings to speak dutch, she never said another word.

You can buy a CD from Becker with different voices. I've seen a couple on Ebay Germany for about £10
It doesn't bother me if it's a male or female voice.
As long as the voice gets me there who cares, it could be my own. Now, that would be spooky

On the subject of APS30, the CD I have is version 7.0

Is that the latest one or has there been an upgrade.

Regards

The version 7.0 is still the current one.
Was first made in 2003 and was reproduced in 2005 but still as a version 7.0.
Soo, I don't think that they would improve the new one without giving it another version number.

I have a brand new version 7.0, unused that came with the A-class we bought in 2004. As I already had one in the SLK and I don't use originals in the car, this one is now surplus to requirement.
If you are interested send me a PM.

Or press and hold the mute button while she speaks until you hear a beep.

Hi Stein-Rune

Your suggestion works!!
But goes back to voice once you restart.
Atleast, now I know how to stop the nagging.

Thanks a lot.
