Theres always so many posts about whats going wrong with our cars and never any on how good they are. So is it that they really do have allot of problems or is that we only write about the negative things?

Ive had mine a year and only had one problem so far, other than that i absolutely love the thing! It looks nice, drives comfortably and goes when i want it to! Compared to my other cars its the best ive had, im only 24 so cant compare allot but i think its great!

Tell us what the good points are about your car and feel positive about it! :D

I had no problems for the first year, great car.
It still a great car, but has had 5 warranty claims in the last 2 years.
2 months out of warranty & the rear suspension started creaking this afternoon. Still love it, but hardly inspires me with confidence for the future.

I've had my ML270CDi for over two years with only the standard MAF problem and normal wear and tear.
Dad has had Mercs for over 25 years, starting with a 190, and 3 C class cars the latest being a 54 plate C180K Elegance SE auto estate, in all the time he has had them he has had no problems and not one spot of rust.

Had mine from new (4.5 years). A few niggles all electrical (door mirrrors, steering column adjust and headlight washers). All replaced under warranty.
Nothing for past 2 years.
Done 75k.

I was going to post, "mine did XXX today" but I would fill the forum up if I posted every warning that comes up. I have learnt to live with them.
I just think well,it was the oil that leaked, that got onto the wiring, that disabled the CC that tells the Comand that it does not know where the car is. You get the idea :D:D

Fight fair Malcolm - I have tried gratuitous optimism on issues like fuel economy and tyre life - you wouldn't believe the friends you can lose, and how quickly.

I am just keeping quiet and hoping for a defect so that I can join in properly!

I've only had my C200k coupe for a few days. I had it valeted today and on the way back it droped out of "drive" and into 4th and wouldn't move from there. I pulled over and switched the engine off and on again and it worked fine. I'm thinking it was the pressure wash of the engine which got some electronics damp.

I'll keep you posted of any problems though. Currently on 93,000 miles.

It is 214am, I have a full-time job, two small children and no Mercedes and what am I doing?... Reading all your posts! I am addicted and even now know Valeo made a dodgy radiator. Now I am going to have to go buy that Mercedes just so that I can really join the club. Ok, I'd better get some sleep as I'm off to see the 2003 E200K estate I should probably not buy tomorrow morning and don't want to forget all the great stuff I read here. Thanks...oh...and...The only tip I can give you is that a great, funny radio programme when I lived in the US was 'Car Talk' on NPR. Check it out on the internet, though it may need some cultural adjustments to translate here in the UK. Carola

e class
2 e classes over 3 years, cars have been faultless, unlike stealers.

Dad runs a 99 c class which apart from a bas warning light his has been fine .
PS He's trying to move it on as it hardly gets uses now, if anyone is interested, please drop me a PM and I'll share details. Its a white estate with AG trim with about 40k miles, 2 ltr auto

Not a bad way to go about things, and you can always come back and ask if you want to know more about the car that you are thinking about:D

Some come with tin-worm, some with fault-worm, it depends what was on the order form ;)

Here, catch this casket; it is worth the pains.
I am glad 'tis night, you do not look on me,
For I am much ashamed of my exchange:
But love is blind and lovers cannot see
The pretty follies that themselves commit;
For if they could, Cupid himself would blush
To see me thus transformed to a boy.

Oh how true for Mercedes Enthusiasts and lovers alike, they bite you, hit you for six, crush you and you still come back for more, like Love ..... you can never have enough! Mercedes = Love = Mercedes

I guess forums for owners who are happy don't really exist. It's in our nature to moan at our vehicular problems and what better place than a forum to get advice and moan at our bad luck?

However,as people also read these forums,to assess what people think about Mercedes before buying,I think you're right to post the good experience you are having.

I bought my first Merc last July and after a few problems, mainly based on the "if this goes wrong I'm bankrupt theory",affecting my judgement, slowly but surely the problems were identified as not really problems after all,(read the bible acca handbook)so ever since my Mercedes has proved to be the quality motor car I had hoped it would be. Hope I'm not tempting fate but doubt my car can read....unless it's computer is hacking into my lap top...!

A rust warranty claim went through with the best of experiences and they even fixed a problem with tailgate and ignition key which was bugging me (no charge!)but since then the car looks great and drives great. If there's one thing that is playing on my mind a bit, (er we go) it's just not using any oil!

Now that may sound daft but since last July and about 5k miles,it's still telling me almost daily, that the oil level is ok. 1 litre is first top up required but no sign yet.I've another 7k miles approx to do to next A service and I'm wondering if it might make it without a top up!

Anyone else experienced a 220 CDi doing megga miles and not using oil?
