I have a `97 C180, the lighting switch and headlamp adjuster controls do not light up with the lights on although the rear fog telltale works. Before I pull the whole lot to bits, is there a bulb behind them that should light up the controls? If so, where is it and how do I get to it to change it / them?
All other dash lamps work fine.

the lights selected dont light up, only the bar on the selector and as you say, also the fog lights you put on! well thats what illuminates on mine anyway.

Allan,
The only thing that lights up is the foglight indicator as you say ,this is correct on the c-class cars of this era, a bad omission if you ask me, but you soon find where the switch is.

Thanks all, seems a bit strange that MB dont fit a lamp behind these controls on the C Class when everything else seems to be lit up. At least I wont have to spend the afternoon with the dash in bits now!!
Oh well, better go and find something else that doesnt work right!
