I am new and have not got an Owners manual yet. bear with me i have a 1990 Sl 300. Between the seats there is an ask trray and cd holer . Than there is something that slides forwar (Arm rest etc)There is a hole on the driverside of that where something broke out Maybe a button. Does this open up I can not get it to open and i do not want to break it i though maybe if it open up like a console my owners manual would be in there

I think you are on the right track. There should be a rectangular button there. The one on mine is quite stiff, so using something to replace the missing button, you might need to be patient in getting the armrest open. Curious that the button is missing - maybe it was very stiff too, and the owner impatient.

That compartment, along with the door pockets and the compartment on the centre top of the dashboard all lock with the central locking system - so make sure you can open a door pocket, for example, before you apply too much energy to the centre console.

It is quite likely that there are documents in there.

Good luck.

Right. So you are clear to find some way of persuading it to open. A wide flat screw driver the width of the apperture might enable equal pressure across the area of the remnant of the button in the recess.
