Arm rest with viseeo

I have a 2003 W209 CLK pre widescreen comand. It has MB phone prewiring. I have brought a viseeo 1000 to operate the system. When the viseeo is in place it is not possible to close the lid of the armrest, if I force it closed the phose turns off, also when the viseeo is in place the steering wheel controls do not work, with the viseeo in the cradle and the armrest open it works ok from the comand unit.
Any help or suggestions on how to make the viseeo fit to enable the lid to be closed and to make the steering wheel controls active would be appreciated.
