ASD testing

Hi all,
can anyone advise me how to trace a fault with my asd (190 2.3-16)
the asd relay was missing when i got the car, i sourced a used unit, plugged it in to fing the asd lihgt continusly on now,
any advice appreciated

does the asd work off a hydraulic pump incorporated into the power steering assbly, if so you could try jacking the car up and tracing the pipework back off the side of the diff to the ASD unit and check the wires as they go into it, obviously check it has oil in the hyd resovoir and after all that take it to an independant, also don't assume that the new second hand relay works!

no, only the 2.5's had the lasd running off he sls pump...
