Hopefully someone can offer some advice regarding the ASR amber warning light which stays on permanently in the dash display (left hand side of the instrument display). The manual ASR override itself works ok in that when I switch it off the triangular dash alert operates. There doesn't appear to be any adverse effect on performance.

Is there a fix, a relay perhaps - I'm hoping to part-ex the car soon and don't want a silly thing like this to wreck the deal.

Thanks in anticipation.

I have an ASR problem on my 1999 c180 for a second time. First time the fault showed up I took it to the local MB dealership. They fixed it in about half an hour and told me that it was a wiring fault.
Maybe it was a connector fault, does anyone know where the ASR connectors are located? I would like to undo and remake the connections in case that it is a simple connector problem.

Hope that someone can give us a lead on this.

I think that most ASR faults are passenger seat related, what do others think

ASR is anti-skid regulation.

Its probably a brake light switch.

Get the fault codes read and all will be revealed

Thank you very much. I will follow up on your suggestions.

This raises the question as to where to get the fault codes read, I presume the main MB dealer keeps this information strictly to himself. Unfortunately my auto technology stopped at the Gunson strobe and a multimeter.

Thanks again.

Worth changing the brake light switch first - £9.50 and takes 15minutes ;)
