I am having problems resetting the ASSYST maintenance indicator which is stating that the maintenance is exceeded by X days.
(spanner displayed).

The owners manual says

1. turn electronic key in steering lock to position 2 and immediately press button "o" twice within 1 second then turn key to position 0

This does not work

Any ideas how to reset the maintenance indicator

Thanks

Brian

PLease do a search of this forum. It's been covered many times.
If you follow the manual to the letter it will work.

It doesn't work by using the technique in the manual. If it did I wouldn't have posted this topic. However, I got it working having found something on the Web. For your info dieselman, The corerect method is not in this forum as ASSYST is model dependent.

Sorry to sound pedantic and to become embroiled in an argument but this has been covered correctly on this forum and is in the owners manual on page 36.
The details you gave are for reading the ASSYST counter.
To reset you need to first display the counter then switch off the ignition, then press and hold the 0 button, then switch on the ignition, hold the 0 button until the gong sounds.
Release the 0 button.

The different model cars have different displays but the same method of resetting ASSYST. The only differeces are with the newer cars with multi-function steering wheels.
