since the headgasket went on my e280 1993 back in oct 2nd, ive had the whole top end renewed eg: head reskimmed pressure tested new valves and stem seals new wiring loome new gaskets all round and still she won`t idle been advised air mass, lambda, injecter, air leak, she goes 600-1000 rpm 600-1000 rpm and dies anyone with any idears would be very greatfull, she does run lovely for a drive, then dies when you stop:( ?

Without doubt it is the over voltage relay located in the fusebox under the bonnet. Its the one with the fuse on top, when faulty,the idle is up and down and the car will stall and stop,around £50. the most common fault you can get for a 93 car.

over valtage relay

thanks malcolm: ive tried a new relay but theres no difference
