Irritatingly they won’t do mine, neither will Kwikfit or F1 autocentres , too specialised for them apparently ...so BMW main dealer on Monday, meanwhile I’m stewing !!

I'm curious as to what makes it a specialised job
If it's any consolation I'm paying £70 for a regas at Citroen next week .... fingers crossed that's all it needs as I don't really want to maul with the a/c of a 10yr old car that does a few thousand miles a year. I'll suggest opening the windows.

Me too! And it’s 79.95 in my case! Again hoping it is the regas only as the auxiliary heater/cooler on the timer sounds like a chopper in distress! I’m assuming it’s trying to cool the cabin with duff refrigerant and over working. I’ve turned off the timers for now just in case.
I do have BMW full warranty if it is anything more sinister but the Halliwell Jones experience last time around doesn’t leave me with a nice feeling if it is..

Local garage does it for £50.00 but Mercland have quoted £69.00, no appointment necessary while you wait service so I might get it done there next week.

I got both my BMW and my Merc done by a localish mobile a/c guy for £75 per vehicle. Leak tested, everything sucked out, then all refilled with the correct weights of gas and quantities of oil.

My R230 A/C Light is flashing and no A/C. This will be the first step to see if it's just a recharge needed or other work.
