Audio 10 CD Help.

Tonight I was driving home listening to a cd whan all of a suddon the stereo switched itself off just as if I had turned the ignition off and removed the key. When this happened I had the audio menu showing on my dash but now instead of the track or radio station it showed four dashes like this ---- under the title audio. I pressed the volume button on the radio to turn it back on and that worked fine; stereo came back on and started playing the cd track from where it left off, however the dash menu still showed ----. When I switched the ignition off and removed the key the stereo remained on. Now I have to turn the radio on and off manually. The dash only displays the ---- on the audio menu and the steering wheel buttons no longer alter the track / station or volume. I have tested the buttons on other menu functions and they seem to work fine. HELP!!

I have a 2002 C200K W203.

Try first checking plugs on rear or Head unit..unplug the steering wheel connector and check that the radio functions without it.

Saved the job for the weekend, but it started working again the other morning. I will wait to see if it happens again.

Audio 10's are a bit temperamental. I had mine spend 30 mins trying to eject a tape (never put one in) and on another occasion I just had garbage on the display. Pulled the fuse on both occasions, waited 30 secs and popped it back. Put the code in and all happy again.
