audio 20 alternative?

Hi there guys,

just saw this over the internet while searching for a command unit for my car... not sure if this will work with the current audio 10 w203 electrics or even if it will fit in? Also i think another issue is finding someone who could fit it in. Any opinions? you think it will make the interior look bad?

You can pick up a comand cheap on Ebay for your car,,I can give you the retro fit instructions

most are £500 above. is it an audio 20 im looking for. my w203 is a prefacelift wooden faschia. the cheap ones on ebay are mostly the facelift command unit. will that fit in a prefacelift model?

OK a 2004 car and probably MOST based,,you can use an Audio 20
Audio 50APS (navigation)
Audio 30APS (navigation)

It will be the wide screen Comand on a var after 04-04

You say your W203 is pre-facelift in which case it is D2B.

That being the case, you have a choice;

Go for one of those units on ebay like you have seen but you will need a fascia adapter.

Go for an Audio30 system instead of your Audio10 unit or go for Comand.

Retrofitting comand is very straight forward. There are some instructions here;

For future reference;

Pre facelifted W203 cannot have Audio20 or Audio50. It can have audio10, audio30 or Comand 2.

Post facelifted W203 cannot have Audio10 or Audio30. It can have Audio20 (standard in the UK) , Audio50 or Comand APS.

Dont need the Vin to know that audio30 wont go in a pre facelifted car.

I think its a prefacelifted car because he says it is and he says he has audio20.

its a prefacelift w203, so its the one that has the wooden trim rather than silver surrounding the radio
