Last week I purchased my first Merc,a 2007 C200 CDI Estate and I bloomin love it. I'm even enjoying the drive to work !!!

The car has an Audio 20 system, but no phone cradle, so I don't get to use the telephone gizmos on the steerin wheel.

I now have a few questions:-
Any idea how much it costs to get a phone cradle installed.
Any way of bluetoothing to the system?
How much to upgrade from an Audio 20, to one with a phone and Sat Nav?

If questions have been asked before, sorry, it's all new to me.

Have a look here for parts and here to get them installed

For a 203

MB Pre-wire parts - ~£500

Bluetooth module - ~£200

COMAND upgrade - ~£1200ish

Hi GrumpyGit,

My 2005 (W203) C220 already had the MB pre wire system fitted but no cradle. I purchased a HFP bluetooth cradle off ebay for £157 in order to use my mobile (Samsung D900i) in the car. Plugged it in and paired up OK, downloads the phone book into the Audio 20 and all works fine. It is a super system and I can highly recommend it. If you haven't got the wiring in place then it will get a bit expensive to fit. When you lift the centre console armrest if there is a black wire in there then the pre wire is already fitted and you only need the bluetooth adaptor, but it may only work on certain phones. Hope this helps.

I've lifted the centre console arm rest/lid. Underneath there is a plastic rectangular plate about 6inches by 2 inches. It looks as if it's removable, if you use a knife to get at it. Will the wires be under this cover as there aren't any visible and I don't want to start shoving knifes and stuff in until I'm sure.

If you have pre-wire there will be a small rounded triagular connector cover near the hinge end on the top section in the centre armrest.

Under the cover will be the connector pins for the phone cradle.

Usually but not always factory fit pre-wire will have a centre split lid to the arm rest.

Hi GG,

The wiring would have been very visable as it enters the upper part of the armrest (Bit that opens both ways) from the rear section of the inner box. If you cannot see a thick black wire at the rear of this then the pre wire is not fitted and you will have to get that installed first. Good Luck.
