"Audio 20" Radio/CD entertainment system - telephone capability?

Hi -
I have recently acquired a C180 Avantgarde Kompressor S203 from 2004. It is fitted with the "Audio 20" radio/CD entertainment system.

The dashboard and steering wheel have the buttons for making and receiving hands-free telephone calls but, looking at the Audio 20 User manual, the Audio 20 system has not been set up to accommodate the telephone capability.

Does anyone know if it is it possible to upgrade the Audio 20 system, or to replace it with another later system, that enables a hands-free telephone capbility, please?

My 2001 S203 C270 had what's called a UHI connector in the centre arm rest cubbyhole, to which you could connect either a phone specific cradle (I still have the cradle for my then old Nokia phone) or a bluetooth adapter to use bluetooth to connect your phone, do you have this? Use one of the free VIN decoder sites and enter your VIN to get the build sheet and see if your car had this telephone prep. lf you have no luck give comandonline.co.uk a call, they are specialists in all things MB ICE/phone stuff and can also supply and fit quality replacement units (Pioneer or similar, they will not touch cheap Chinese imports!!) to add bluetooth/phone, DAB, Android auto/Apple Carplay etc, but that sort of thing is not cheap!

Just bin it and get a model specific Android unit which is around 100x better.

I fitted mine (Erisin) around 5 years ago and it has been perfect.

If I was doing the same today I would just get any unit that supported Apple carplay or Android auto which they all pretty much do now.
